I'm not a television critic, but I play one on the internet. And so do several of my friends. On this site you can find our commentary on our favorite television obessession: The X-Files.
From this homepage you can link to our comments on the latest episode of the X-Files. Also on the site are our comments from previous Season 9 episodes as well as last season's episodes. As time permits, I hope to backfill commentary from previous seasons. But for now, Season 8 and 9 is all ya' get.
Any questions, suggestions, or comments can be directed to the webmaster (that would be me, Redwing) through the Contact Webmaster link located in the left navigation panel (come on...you *know* you want to send me feedback, you know you do! So go ahead an send it! ;)) Thanks for visiting and enjoy! |

UPDATE 5/28/02
(by Redwing)
Just a note to say the site is not dead. In fact, it's my hope to spend the summer back filling missed CRCs from Season 8 and 9. Also, I've got lots of episode commentary from seasons 5, 6, and 7 that I want to add as the summer progresses. So stay tuned!
You're more than welcome to email me with requests for what order I should back fill undone episodes. I think my personal preference is to get Per Manum done--I've been wanting to do that for a while and just haven't. But who knows what will strike my fancy when I actually sit down to do one. As I said, feel free to send me your vote (and now that I think about it, you don't have to feel confined to seasons 8 and 9).
Also, the Sunshine CRC challenge is still active! So please feel free to send me your entries! :)
I guess that's it for now.

A CRC Experiment...
(by Redwing)
OK, here's a request for ya all (well, at least those of you that read my CRCs) and it's my hope that it's one you'll all have fun with:
I'd like to give you all a chance to help write a CRC (and give me a little different experience with them :) ). And Sunshine Days seems like as good an episode to do this for, particularly since there just aren't many episodes left! So here's what I'm proposing...I'd like you to *email* me (redwingx@gte.net) with one or two (or however many you'd like) little point-value with explanation paragraphs (you know, the number of points involved for what and why you're awarding/docking them those points).
Choose any character you'd like (or multiple ones--just don't forget to tell me who the points are for!) and just pick out something that you'd give that person points for/take points away for (from Sunshine Days only). Do as many as you'd like. I'll review all the submissions and compile them. I can't guarantee that I'll use all of them (especially if multiple people submit stuff for the same event and if point values are way out of the norm lol) in the final Sunshine Days CRC, but I'd like to use as many as possible and I'll at the very least include a list at the end of what everyone submitted.
So this is your chance to have a say in the characters' scores--don't pass it up (that's my way of begging for help with this one hehe)! Once again that email address is redwingx@gte.net. I have no idea if this little experiement will work out or be a total bomb but we'll see. In any case, do try to have fun! :) And thanks!

Release Character Report Card
(by Redwing)
Reyes consoles Doggett. The X-Files |
Man, two weeks in a row I have to grapple with personal and emotionally trying events! Ugh! Nevertheless, as this wasn't quite mytharc stuff, it wasn't quite as hard to write. *whew* Looking forward to Sunshinier Days, though, that's for sure! ;)

William Character Report Card
(by Redwing)
Scully interrogates Spender. The X-Files |
I almost decided to write a review of the episode instead of a CRC—Mytharc CRCs are so notoriously hard to write, anyway, and I knew I wouldn’t be able to convey the hows and whys of what I liked about the episode in one. I’m not sure why I ended up writing this CRC anyway, but I did. And basically the characters when on a point rollercoaster ride, which was fitting since the episode itself was pretty much a rollercoaster. Nevertheless, they all managed to come out with positive scores, some more positive than others, of course. And I should mention that I did try to cut down Scully’s Report Card but I couldn’t find anything that I really wanted to leave out. So I just let her bear the brunt of my over-analyzing and over wordiness this time.
